day 05

Good morning, friends.

We are wrapping up the first week of November. I hope you are all feeling okay and making small steps forward in your practice.

This week has been challenging for all of us in obvious and not-so-obvious ways. I’ve found it particularly difficult to focus, which has been the case on and off since the pandemic began. We need to work within the parameters of what we can do, create to feel better, and be good to ourselves. I am repeating this to myself daily. How are you feeling?

This afternoon is the 3pm PST Zoom meeting for existing attendees. If you have not attended one of these, I will ask next week if this is something you might like to add to your experience of the residency.

Will be doing some live vids over the weekend and also a quiet co-working zoom session. More to come on that. Excited for a solo three day reset after this emotional week.

So, my solo three day plan:
Meditate 20 mins
Yoga 20 mins
Walk 20 mins
Nightly cocktail to celebrate you-know-what
Finish dimensions and hem on pair of sewn panels
3 hours daily on whatever the hell feels good art-wise (quantity over quality)
Kick the inner critic to the curb as needed
Continue reading Amy Sillman book
Hot dates with fat library books on Sister Corita Kent and Abstraction (2007).
Watch some videos from previous group recommendations.
SOLID sleep.
